International Advisory Board: Seppo Remes
Seppo Remes is a Finnish citizen, born 1955. He has Licentiate of Economics degree from Turku School of Economics. Remes has worked in Russia 1993-2015. He started his career as corporate vice president, Russian Affairs, at Neste (Fortum), Finnish national oil, gas and power company (1993-2001).
Later he was CEO of Investment Company Vostok Energo and Director of Vostok Nafta of the same group (2001-2004), both investing in Russian energy sector. In years 1996-2003, he chaired the Board of European Business Club in Russian Federation.
Remes has been a board member of many Russian companies: power monopoly UES (2003-2008) and many of its daughter companies; OMZ (heavy machine-building), LSR (construction), Sollers (automobile industry), Sibur (plastics and petrochemicals), Rusnano (nanotechnology), Russian Grids (electricity transmission and distribution). He was elected as the Director of the Year in 2013 by Independent Directors’ Association together with Russian Council of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.
In 2007 he founded together with partners an investment company EOS Russia which is listed at First North, Stockholm, and has chaired the Board of the company ever since. He is Honorary Doctor from Russian Plekhanov Academy of Economy, Moscow and Turku School of Economics, Finland.
He is also member of Advisory Boards of Alexander Institute at Helsinki University, Pan-European Institute in Turku, Gaidar Institute International Advisory Board and member of Board of Association of Professional Investors and Russian Institute of Directors. He was member of Boards of UES, Rusnano, Rosseti, OMZ, Sollers and Sibur Holding
